Ah adulthood, the times when our lives our separated into working and days off from work.  Remember when the most difficult task was learning the hokey pokey? Putting the correct hand in and out was nerve wracking.  At that time, as a confused six year old, it was embarrassing when I put my left hand out instead of my right hand in.  I’d be like “ohhhh man, there goes my left foot while I am shaking it” as I fall onto the ground, on my ass.  Such were the trials and tribulations of a clumsy six year old.  We all had our tests, whether it was building that Lego house, picking rocks or rocking to the electric slide, we were taught to find balance and rhythm within the activity.  It was a way of letting loose and participating in group work.  All of this taught us to be present in the moment while making mistakes and learning from them.  Sure, things as adults might be more difficult and daunting.  Going to work and exercising are not particularly exhilarating activities (well for most people anyway) and tasks are much more difficult as adults.  Compare the hokey pokey to getting a speeding ticket or getting laid off.  They are completely different, true.  However, every difficulty we experience is a dance we are learning... we put our right hands in when it should have been our left foots and we might have shaken our ass when we were supposed to turn around.  So what?  We are learning and evolving.  You fall then break your heart, have a sucky job then what?  That doesn’t mean you can’t get back up, do the hokey pokey, turn yourself around and smile at the mistakes and experiences along the way… because really, that is what it all about.
